Hosting a fun and festive party shouldn't be a chore. I used to stress when it was my turn to take on the hosting duties, but now I love it. Over the years, I have learned to keep it simple with easy recipes like my Oven Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders recipe, as well as make-ahead recipes like our homemade Macaroni Salad, Avocado Lime Cheesecake for dessert, and refreshing Fresh Squeezed Lemonade to wash it all down! Keeping it simple allows me to relax and enjoy the party! That's a good thing!

With this ham and cheese sliders recipe, it's quick and easy to make a lot of sandwiches for a crowd to enjoy. I love how I can fill my favorite slider rolls with just about any lunch meat and cheese combo.

It's fun to offer a variety at a party, and being bite-sized, these baked sliders are perfect for parties year-round! Kids and adults will gobble these sliders up in no time, so you might want to double the recipe, depending on the size of your crowd!

WHAT TYPE OF ROLLS DO YOU USE FOR OVEN BAKED SLIDERS?

Your favorite soft roll in a slider size will work great. I love potato rolls. Be sure to look for the package of 24 party rolls. They are the perfect size for this slider recipe. You can also use Hawaiian rolls. The sweet, soft rolls are perfect for baked sliders recipes.

CAN I USE ANY TYPE OF HAM AND CHEESE?

I recommend using your favorite ham and cheese combo or use what you find on sale. I love Havarti cheese and Virginia baked ham, so that is what I use and recommend on my ham and cheese sliders recipe. Don't be afraid to mix it up and get creative!

DO YOU HAVE TO USE THE SAUCE?

The buttery Dijon sauce is essential to making these oven baked ham and cheese sliders. With just 5 ingredients, the sauce is super easy to make and adds loads of flavor! Don't skip on the sauce. Without it you just have a hot ham and cheese sandwich. The sauce, along with the soft rolls, is what makes these baked ham and cheese sliders special.

      1. That's a total bummer, Susan! Maybe you can ask your grocer to get them, but definitely a good idea to stock up when you visit :) Thanks for stopping by! Have a super week ~Marion

      3. Hi Kerry, we haven't had any issues with them getting soggy. On busy days, I've made them up for snacking throughout the day with no issues. I hope that helps! Have a super weekend!

      4. I made of trial run of this recipe yesterday, doing 400 for son's wedding. I substituted spiral ham, american cheese, and omitted the poppy seeds. They loved them, the bottoms were crisp. Other recipes I had been looking at called for up to a cup of butter per 12 rolls, which adds up quickly cost-wise, and my son detests soggy bread. This recipe was perfect, almost a conglomeration of all the recipes I had been looking online for, at minimal cost. There were no complaints ,AT ALL, and my son took the remainder to work with him to share. Thank you for providing this recipe. I appreciate that it is specifically for the potato rolls I had bought, and so easy. Great job!

      2. A recipe I found, and loved, adds 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 6 rather than 4 tablespoons of melted butter for the glaze, and mayonnaise or miracle whip spread on the lower buns before adding the remaining ingredients. A bit gooier but super delicious!

    6. Can you make these up in advance and bake them the next day? I was thinking of a fast and easy meal for Sunday after church. We always have an uninvited guest and I'm really getting tired of going overboard on Sunday dinner when we prefer to just relax and have simple things to piece on. This would be perfect.

    10. I'm going to be making some of these for my daughters 21st. Will be trialling a batch today. They look lovely hot, I'm just wondering are they just as nice cold?

      1. We like them warm or cold, Paul. Warm right out the oven is best, but on the rare occasion they don't get gobbled up right away, we still enjoy them after they've cooled off. They can also be warmed gently in the microwave if preferred. I would go very gently though as microwaves do weird things to bread.

I hope everyone enjoys them and the party is a success. Happy 21st to your daughter! ~Marion
